With a 3-0 victory against Minnesota Wild, Dallas locked up the first wild card in the Western Conference on Saturday.
Dallas will play the Nashville Predators in the first round in the final seven games. It was Bishop who made 24 saves, Seguin who scored two times to begin the exciting game.
On the other side, Alex Stalock made it go 4-9-1 in the last 14 games for Minnesota with his 41 saves. Minnesota Wild’s forward Eric Staal admitted the difficulty of the night when they could not keep the right level to be competitive for the League.
After the playoff this Tuesday, the Wild was knocked out and they would also miss the postseason. This is the first time in 8 years they miss the postseason from 2012.
Eric Staal still had positive thought when they really made improvements in spite of the failure. He kept on thinking that there were chances for them as they worked together and made it to the playoff spot. However, their team was not in the best strength to make it into the final spot, and all the team seemed to lose the hope when they were left with no further target for playing, which they really did that night.
Greg Pateryn was the one who made score at 19:42 for the Wild of the second period, but a video review was needed before the call was admitted. Seguin led 1-0 for the Stars at 2:44 of the third period, and Radulov made an exceptional assist to finish his 300th NHL point.
After the score, Seguin made the lead 2-0 by scoring the second time at 8:55 with a backhand.
Minnesota was finally shut out this season for the 11th time. This is the second season in the history of the team with the most time to be shut out. In the season 2000 – 2001, they were also shut out 14 times.
